Our Rabbi Yitzchok Werbin

Rabbi Yitzchok Werbin is the Rabbi of Kesher Torah Synagogue, a warm and diverse congregation in Sandy Springs, Georgia.

Born and raised in Dunwoody, Georgia, Rabbi Werbin attended the Greenfield Hebrew Academy (now AJA) and North Springs High School. He traveled south to attend the University of Florida where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in finance.  Enjoying a very successful career in real estate he was inspired to explore Judaism on a higher level.

He packed his bags and headed to Israel where he eagerly enrolled in Machon Yaakov, a Yeshiva that caters to young professionals who are looking for a deeper understanding and purposeful Jewish life.  Two years into the program, Werbin developed a deep sense of fulfillment and direction in his understanding of Judaism, which in turn helped him develop a keen understanding of deep ideas in life and in the world.  Two years turned into 12 and Werbin, now Rabbi Werbin, with Semicha from Rabbi Zalman Nechemia Goldberg, of blessed memory, studied and taught Torah, Jewish philosophy and character development in his beloved Jerusalem.

Rabbi Werbin met and married his wife, Sarah, in Jerusalem.  They are the proud parents of six children. Sarah is a talented and inspirational marriage coach, Mikvah and premarital educator.  Additionally, she teaches women’s classes on a variety of Judaic topics.

Rabbi and Sarah returned to Atlanta to be closer to their parents and family. They hoped to be inspirational in educating and elevating the next generation to find a purposeful connection to Judaism. An opportunity opened in Sandy Springs and both Rabbi Werbin and Sarah knew this would be their home.  They moved from the Toco Hills area to Sandy Springs and Rabbi Werbin proudly became the Rabbi of Kesher Torah.

Rabbi and Rebbetzin Werbin are very excited to be cultivating a warm and vibrant community in Sandy Springs, Georgia.
