Welcome to Kesher Torah Atlanta

In Hebrew “Kesher” means connection. Our mission at Kesher Torah is to build community and connect the Jews of Sandy Springs, as well as, to inspire and educate them to a deeper and more meaningful relationship to Judaism, irrespective of background, affiliation, denomination or level of observance.

Kesher Torah’s philosophy and goal is to enable all Jewish people and their children, to experience the joy and vibrancy of Judaism in a welcoming, meaningful environment. Our warm and diverse community is led by Orthodox traditions.

This Week at Kesher Torah Atlanta

Please join us this Shabbos after morning services around noon for a seated dairy kiddush, sponsored by our friends Stephanie and Brian Daitch to celebrate the Casper Family’s move into their new home! Thank you, Brian and Stephanie, this is so nice of you, and we all wish the Casper Family much Nachas in their new home! Thank you to last week’s seated kiddush sponsor, Jonathan Lewin, our Shul Kohen, Chazan, Mathematician, and Hamentashen Expert, for his generosity. If you would like to sponsor a kiddush or seated meal for any reason (Bar/Bas Mitzvah, Birthday, Wedding, Yahrzeit, or just to be nice), please click here to be taken to our online kiddush menu and order form. Kiddush sponsorships are filling up, especially as we get closer to the high holidays!

Parents remember that we have children’s programs every Shabbos for boys and girls. For Girls ages 8-13, we have the Girls Shabbos Club led by Rebbitzens Sarah Werbin and Deanna Casper, and for Boys ages 5-12, B’NEI KT will be led by Rabbi Eli Casper! For more information, please see the flyers below.

FINAL REMINDER: LAST FEW DAYS FOR YIZKOR BOOK PAGE ORDERING. The High Holidays will soon be here. As part of our service to members, Kesher Torah publishes an annual Yizkor book of those family members who are no longer with us. In addition to publishing this book, it serves as an important fundraiser for the shul as there is a nominal cost for inclusion. We hope you have no reason to include family members, but if you do, the link to include a family member of friend can be found HERE. Please see Greg or Rabbi Werbin if you want to review last year’s memorial book. PLEASE SUBMIT ASAP.

Orders for lulavim and etrogim should be submitted by Motzei Shabbos, Saturday, September 28. You may submit your orders using THIS FORM.

A GREAT BIG  MAZEL TOV to Mira and Matthew Freedman on the naming of their daughter last Shabbos at Congregation Beth Jacob. Welcome to the world, Leeba Bracha. May you lead a blessed and wonderful life! Leeba was proudly named after her grandfather, Louis Freedman z"l.  Congratulations to proud grandparents Judy and Lindsay Ledger!

Last but certainly not least, ANOTHER HUGE MAZEL TOV is extended to Esther Joel, who has just finished her IDF basic training with the very difficult Search and Rescue Unit! Now on to more advanced training and possibly officer’s studies as well! Kesher Torah is very proud of the brave young Joel girls, Esther and Chana, who are doing their share to help keep Israel safe. Several pictures of the ceremony where Esther has been issued her weapon and siddur can be found below. Thank you, Esther, Chana, David, and the entire Joel family!

Have a wonderful Shabbos!
